“Roses on the Columbia. Looking at and for Courage” Mary Beth Danielson

In October Unitarian Universalists are considering the quality of Courage. Astronaut Laurel Salton Clark, who would die in the Columbia space shuttle mission disaster, spent her high school years attending Olympia Brown UU Church in Racine, WI. We will consider her life and the lives of others as we think about what courage is – and how to get some.

Mary Beth grew up in Ludington, Michigan. Her early religious experiences were born-again, intense, and loving. She moved into Chicago after college. She attended Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, IL but did not become a minister. She married Len Lamberg; they raised their family in Chicago and Racine, Wisconsin.  She is now a member of United Unitarian Universalist Church in Waukesha. Mary Beth was a weekly columnist for the Racine Journal Times for 12 years. She also coordinated an employment program within the Racine County Jail for qualified inmates. She retired recently and continues to write at her own website; MaryBethDanielson.com
