“We Were Not Meant to Survive,” Bob Bledsoe

Audre Lord writes “the heavy-footed hoped to silence us.” But we may be uncertain who “us” are. Who is doing the silencing, who is being silenced, and who are the “helpers” Fred Rogers famously spoke of? The answer to each question may be “us.”

Bob Bledsoe is a hospice chaplain in Sheboygan. His wife, Jayne Helgevold, is a chaplain for Holy Family hospital in Manitowoc. They have no children but an ever-rotating menagerie of rescued dogs and cats and will take any excuse to show you pictures.
