Share the Plate Update
WUWM, 89.7 FM - Milwaukee’s NPR station - has been selected as the next Share the Plate recipient! They were nominated by recent Coming of Age graduates Gideon and Frankie Thurow.
Since 1964, WUWM has aimed to be the media organization that empowers the public to affect change. In an era of budget cuts heavily impacting public radio, supporting them is more necessary than ever. The ethical journalism standards of this member-supported station ensure that listeners receive an honest portrayal of issues and events in all broadcasts. WUWM pledges that its reporting is not influenced by outside interests, political influences or personal agendas.
WUWM produces local news and information for both broadcast and digital channels, including programs such as Lake Effect, Bubbler Talk, Chirp Chat, and Wandering Wisconsin. They strive to present stories of southeastern Wisconsin to engage, inspire, and connect people with a shared understanding of each
other, the region, and the world. In addition, WUWM broadcasts national and international programming from NPR, APM and BBC.
Half of the donations for July and August will go to WUWM. You can donate using PayPal or Breeze. Checks should include “STP” on the memo line. Your generosity in support of this critical information source is greatly appreciated!

UCN's Share the Plate Program was established in 2008 to help organizations doing social justice work, not just in our area, but around the world. It has been a tremendously successful endeavor. Half of the offertory is donated each collection period to the designated organization. The spreadsheet link below will take you to a 2 page document that lists past donation totals to each organization chronologically and alphabetically.
